Birthday Card

I made a birthday card for my friend this weekend.  It was going to be an 8 x 10 watercolor and ink painting folded in half.  Once the painting was finished I had a need to cut it into pieces and rearrange the colors.

Originally I was going to rearrange the strips and adhere them to another sheet of watercolor paper but instead I began to play with weaving them.  I love the way the card turned out.  I ended up adhering a couple colorful strips to the plain white back as well where I wrote my birthday message.  If you end up trying this out yourself, don’t forget to glue all of the outer edges to keep the weave together.  Making this card was fun!
